Developing and scanning
We develop color C-41 35mm film. Scans are emailed as a download link, typically within 2–3 days of receiving your film. Turnaround times are estimates, not guarantees.

Blank or damaged rolls
The developing fee applies to every roll we process, including rolls that come back blank, underexposed, or damaged. The chemistry and machine time are the same either way. We'll let you know by email if a roll comes back empty.

Prints and negatives
Prints and negatives are available on drop-off orders only and are held at the shop for two weeks from the day your scans are emailed. We do not mail prints or negatives. Items not collected within two weeks may be recycled.

Mail-in orders
Grain Studios is not responsible for film lost, delayed, or damaged in transit before it reaches us. We recommend a tracked shipping service. Mail-in orders are scans only; negatives are not returned.

Download period
Scan download links remain active for 30 days. Please download and back up your files promptly. We are not able to guarantee re-delivery after that period.

Liability
Film is inherently unpredictable and we cannot guarantee results from any given roll. In the event of loss or damage caused by us, our liability is limited to a refund of the amount paid for that order, or replacement film of equivalent type.

Payment
All orders are paid in full at checkout.
